The bride’s request sparked a lively discussion in the comments of the post
A photographer claims that their soon-to-be-married client expects them to show up to the wedding with more than just a camera.
On Reddit’s “Wedding Shaming” forum, an individual reshared a post they spotted from a photographer and titled it, “Sighted a good one today! Entitled bride tells photographer to bring a wedding gift.”
The photographer’s original post, addressed to fellow photographers, began, “I don’t even know what to say …”
“What would you do if a client that booked you for their wedding texted you 2 days before the wedding to tell you not to forget to bring a wedding gift to the reception, such as money in a card or an Amazon gift card,” the post continued.
The photographer then said they were “so close to giving my client their money back” — presumably referring to the deposit for the job.

In the comments section, readers shared their shock over the client’s request.
“What cheek!” one person wrote, while another said, “On what planet do the vendors need to bring a gift?! Bride is sadly delusional.”
Others offered suggestions to the photographer on how to handle the text message — both serious and joking.
“[Text back] something like, ‘This is a professional arrangement, I am not a guest, I am a professional you hired to do a job. Therefore I would prefer to keep our relationship professional. I will not be bringing any gifts or cards. If this arrangement is not to your liking I can refund your deposit,’ ” one commenter advised.
Having a little fun, one person wrote, “I would put the invoice into a box and wrap it with a note ‘my gift, to you’ 😂👌.”
Another person said, “I’d give her a coupon for 10% off a future photo shoot,” prompting a reader to joke in reply, “For her next wedding.”

One reader, however, wondered if the photographer received the text message by mistake.
“Could they possibly have been sending a mass text and included you by mistake?” they asked, though someone else countered, “Even so, reminding anyone to bring a gift is incredibly tacky.”
