Miranda Lambert’s mentorship of Ella Langley reveals a powerful message about self-worth in the music industry, as Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” charts history with Lambert’s co-production and support.

Ella Langley, the rising Alabama-born country star, credits her meteoric rise to more than just talent—it’s the unwavering support of a music legend, Miranda Lambert. In a candid revelation, Langley shares that Lambert’s most impactful contribution wasn’t a songwriting session or production credit, but a fundamental reset of her self-worth: “You are more important than this job.”

This pivotal advice came during a recent episode of Country Countdown USA, where Langley co-hosted with radio personality Lon Helton on February 23. Speaking about her close friendship with Lambert, Langley explained how the 42-year-old Texas native’s guidance helped her navigate the pressures of fame. “She made me care for myself. Having someone like that made me feel like I’m okay,” Langley reflected, underscoring a mentorship that transcends the studio Country Countdown USA.

Lambert’s influence is deeply woven into Langley’s upcoming sophomore album, Dandelion, set for release on April 10. Serving as co-producer, Lambert approached the project with the same meticulous care she applies to her own records—a “godsend” for Langley, who always dreamed of collaborating with her. “After we wrote ‘Choosin’ Texas,’ she was there for all the sessions,” Langley said, highlighting Lambert’s hands-on commitment Parade.

The pair co-wrote “Choosin’ Texas” alongside Luke Dick and Joybeth Taylor, a track that has shattered records since its October 17, 2025 release. The Platinum-certified single made history earlier this year by making Langley the first woman to simultaneously top Billboard‘s Hot 100, Hot Country Songs, and Country Airplay charts. Most recently, Langley and Megan Moroney became the first two female country artists to concurrently lead both Billboard‘s major all-genre charts—Moroney with her album Cloud 9 at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and “Choosin’ Texas” reclaiming the Hot 100 summit after a brief displacement Parade.

Langley described the achievement as both “baffled and grateful,” sharing a recent FaceTime conversation with Lambert where they marveled at the song’s unpredictable journey. “We loved the song, but never thought it would do this. There’s no way you can predict it,” she said, emphasizing how Lambert’s steadfast presence provided stability amid the whirlwind success.

Dandelion arrives on April 10, promising further evidence of Lambert’s signature touch—not just as a co-writer or co-producer, but as a guardian of artist integrity. Their collaboration signals a growing trend in country music where veterans actively lift emerging talent, prioritizing community over competition.

For fans and industry observers alike, this partnership underscores a vital truth: sustainable success in music begins with feeling valued as a person first. Lambert’s mantra—”You are more important than this job”—resonates as a corrective to an industry often criticized for demanding total sacrifice. Langley’s triumph, backed by one of country’s most respected voices, proves that artistry thrives when nurtured with empathy.
