Emma Chamberlain’s Backless Met Gala Dress Plunges All the Way Down to Her Butt

Emma Chamberlain led the celebrity arrivals at the 2025 Met Gala in a side boob-baring gown that was equal parts a nearly-naked dress or an ode to dandyism. In a sultry nod to the evening’s theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” Chamberlain made an appearance at The Carlyle hotel on May 5 in a sleeveless black pinstriped dress that looked like a suit vest from the front.  However, as she turned for the cameras, the creator showed off the gown’s daring backless design that dipped all the way down to her butt.

In her best sartorial interpretation of “business in the front, party in the back,” Chamberlain reinterpreted the skirt suit with the asymmetrical design. Her double-breasted bodice featured a burgundy silk pocket lining on the left side and a matching skirt that was connected by a row of buttons that opened into a dramatic thigh-high front slit.

However, the Chamberlain Coffee entrepreneur’s seemingly office-ready Met Gala look took a NSFW twist as she turned to the side. Chamberlain flashed some side boob with the top’s backless design, which was barely held in place by a strip of fabric. The low-rise skirt plunged down low to her tailbone, showing off an expanse of her bare midriff and side. In contrast to her top’s barely there design, Chamberlain’s gown featured a long train in a matching pinstriped material in the back. As she walked, she showed off a pair of vintage-style black sheer tights that she paired with black satin pointy-toed heels.

The social media star covered up her bare arms with sheer black opera gloves that were trimmed with the pinstriped fabric. Several sparkling cocktail rings and a deep manicure could be seen through the mesh material.

Chamberlain leaned into an androgynous beauty look for her Met Gala appearance, styling her bleach blonde pixie cut into an artfully tousled style that showed off her long dangling chandelier earrings. Silver-rimmed glasses offset her smokey eye and smudged black eyeliner, as well as her maroon-hued blush that she swept over her cheekbones, under her eyes, and up her temples. A moody berry lip and porcelain skin finished off Chamberlain’s Met Gala look.
