Erm, guys, this is not a drill. I repeat, this is NOT a drill! Emily In Paris has confirmed that season five of the show is now in production (!!), and in the announcement, the series’ star, Emily Cooper, simultaneously debuted a dramatic new haircut. I’m not screaming, you are.
Over on the show’s official Instagram, the team shared an image of Emily, played by Lily Collins, with a caption that reads: “Lights, Camera, Amore—Emily in Paris Season 5 is now in production!”
Now, as excited as we are for a new season of romance, drama and above all, Marcello (sorry not sorry, Gabriel stans), said post had us doing a double take for Emily’s super short haircut. She’s said goodbye to the long, brunette curls, and hello to a sleek, jaw-grazing bob!

Even though this sharp, blunt cut isn’t quite a French bob (read more about how to achieve that particular style here), we’re totally obsessed. And fans of the show are, too, with many leaving adoring comments under the IG post. “SHORT HAIR EMILY IS A SLAY 😍,” one person wrote, while another said: “we all know what a dramatic hair change means!!”
As the old adage goes: new hair, new me!
So, could this be a whole new era for Emily? I guess only time will tell. Season five, you can’t come soon enough!
