Jenna Johnson is getting real about the challenges of performing. In a TikTok video shared on Saturday, Feb. 21, the Dancing with the Stars pro says she got her period right before stepping onstage during the cast’s current North American tour.
“Nothing’s more vulnerable than putting on a tiny rhinestoned leotard, on the first day of your cycle ,” Johnson, 31, captioned the post. In the clip, she recalls starting her period “five minutes before” the show was set to start.
Johnson says that the moment made her think about women performers everywhere and “how freaking amazing” they are. “What about all the Olympians right now that just started their frickin’ menstrual cycle and are just smashing it and killing it?” she says.
The Dancing with the Stars Live tour kicked off in Akron, Ohio, and features 74 stops through May 13. Several star competitors from the 34th season will make special appearances, including winner Robert Irwin and runner-ups Alix Earle, Jordan Chiles, Elaine Hendrix and Dylan Efron.
