A Dancing With the Stars pro wrote a heartbreaking goodbye to her fiancé on Saturday (May 10) because they are about to be apart for three months.
Pro Britt Stewart and her partner from season 31, actor Daniel Durant, became romantically involved during their season and got engaged a year later, in December 2023. But their lives are still full of work commitments, and on Saturday, Stewart wrote the most heartwrenching post about how they got to see each other for just a few hours this weekend in between jobs.
Stewart writes, “This year has been crazy and filled with so many blessings. My work has taken me away from home for most of the year so far. If you know me, you know this is normal!
I arrived home last night and sent Daniel off this morning to start filming a new project for the next 3 months. This morning’s ‘see you soon’ was a little bit harder than most.”

We both feel so grateful that we love what we do for work and that it has provided abundance and a life we both love. Without our jobs, we would have never met…….
Daniel, you make life easy. Even when it means saying ‘see you soon’ to pursue our dreams. I’m grateful for you and the foundation that we’ve built for our relationship. I’ll see you soon, my love. Love you, forever.”
The message was written overtop of a video of them embracing and then Stewart signing “I love you” as Durant left. Durant is the third contestant in Dancing With the Stars history who is deaf. During his season, Stewart began picking up ASL (American Sign Language) and since then, they have posted many videos of themselves signing and teaching ASL to their followers.
Stewart and Durant placed fifth in their season, but talk about being the actual winners, right? They have not yet announced a wedding date to the public, but Stewart did tell Parade that they are getting married sometime in 2025.
We don’t know what project Durant is off to film just yet. He previously had a recurring role on the TV show Switched at Birth and received critical acclaim for his stage work in Spring Awakening, but Durant’s big breakout role was in the Oscar-winning 2021 film CODA, which stands for “Child of Deaf Adults.”
The other two hearing-impaired contestants on Dancing With the Stars are Marlee Matlin, who placed seventh in season 6 with partner Fabian Sanchez, and Nyle DiMarco, who won season 22 with partner Peta Murgatroyd.
Dancing With the Stars returns for its 34th season in fall 2025 on ABC and Hulu.
