Longtime Dancing With the Stars cast member Mark Ballas is over the moon excited that his best friend Derek Hough is expecting his first child.
The big baby news dropped on June 22, with Hough and his wife Hayley Erbert sharing a joint Instagram post to announce the news.
“We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small,” Erbert captioned the post. It didn’t take long for Ballas to react in the comments section.
“YAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY I am so happy for you both,” read one of Ballas’ many comments.
“Baby Hough is not even ready for Uncle Mark, Auntie BC + Cousin Banksi play dates about to go TOO HARD,” Ballas wrote in another comment.

Ballas later shared the baby news on his own Instagram Stories, expressing his excitement over this special news.
“My heart has been exploding for these 2 since they told BC & me that they are expecting,” Ballas said. “Seeing how they have bonded with my son Banksi has been so beautiful. They are going to be phenomenal parents & I can’t wait to be uncle Mark.. my heart can’t take thiiiiiiiiis,” he added.
In a subsequent post, Ballas said that he was even more emotional because Hough and Erbert chose to use the song “So Small,” which was written by him and his wife, BC Jean.

“And to top it all off they used the song my wife &I wrote when we were expecting our sonIAM DEAD… Send help!!” Ballas captioned a still from Hough and Erbert’s sweet announcement.
Hough and Erbert tied the knot in 2023.
