Dancing With the Stars six-time winner and now judge Derek Hough took to his Instagram stories on Monday, April 28 to tease that “a change is coming” in regards to Ovation Dance.

Ovation Dance is “a multi-genre convention and competition, focusing on International Latin Dance,” according to its Instagram. In August 2024, it announced that it was partnering with Hough and his sister and fellow Dancing With the Stars winner and now host, Julianne Hough, for a 2025 launch. The Ovation Dance Instagram bio reads “Premier convention and competition, 2025-2026 tour dates coming soon.”

It would seem that some kind of announcement may be imminent based on the new Instagram reel that Derek reposted.

On the reel, Julianne wrote, “Ohhhhhh…. Here we go 😏🔥,” and fellow Dancing With the Stars pro Jenna Johnson followed that up with her own cryptic comment: “👀✨❤️‍🔥.”

The only information we have about Johnson and her husband, and fellow pro dancer Valentin Chmerkovskiy, is that the Hough siblings announced in September 2024 that Johnson and Chmerkovskiy would be joining them on the Ovation Tour.

“Ovation is proud to announce @Valentin and @jennajohnson to our incredible faculty! Val is an Emmy-nominated choreographer, 3x Dancing with the Stars winner and 2x Latin Dance Champion 🏆,” wrote Julianne on Instagram.

She continued, “Not only is Jenna an Emmy-nominated choreographer and Dancing with the Stars winner, but she is an absolute powerhouse performer and will bring so much energy to the Ovation stage! We are SO honored to have Val and Jenna’s level of talent and expertise on the Ovation tour! We can’t wait to see you all very soon!”

Johnson replied, “Cryingggg 🥹🥰 So excited to be part of the Ovation family!”

The post also teased that the tour would be “kicking off January 2025,” and that obviously did not happen, so there must have been a delay of some kind. But with the teaser video hyping “a change is coming,” we expect an announcement soon.

Dancing With the Stars returns for its 34th season in fall 2025 on ABC and Hulu. The first celebrity for season 34 has already been announced.
