After the president decided to have the famous White House Rose Garden lawn paved over with concrete, users on the internet are having strong reactions to the look of the new renovations.

New photos of the revamped space outside the iconic U.S. landmark show what was formerly a green lawn space has now been transformed into a paved patio area, complete with several sets of white tables and chairs paired with striped yellow umbrellas.
After the photos of the renovations went viral online, fans on social media have had mixed reactions to the new space, with some supporters admitting they “love” the look of the transformation—but others aren’t so convinced.
“This looks so tacky,” one user wrote on Instagram after seeing the photos, comparing the new space to the looks of a “gas station rest stop.”
“Destroyed an iconic feature of American history,” another user lamented, while others critics chimed in with more disapproving comments to call the new look “tacky and cold” and “ridiculous.”
Some users also pointed out that the new yellow umbrellas Trump had installed look notably similar to the umbrellas outside his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida.

“Certainly doesn’t seem like he plans on leaving,” one user wrote on X (formerly Twitter). Another person called the new decor “genuinely hideous,” while someone else said the whole area looks “tacky and cheap.”
