Didn’t think Doja Cat could top the time she showed up at the Met Gala dressed as an actual cat, but here we are. The singer arrived at this year’s gala—”Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”—wearing a custom Marc Jacobs bodysuit. The bold look featured bedazzled pinstripe suit jacket sleeves with exaggerated shoulders and a leopard print corset-like bodice with a cone bra. (Pants were not utilized.)
Doja is nothing if not a master accessorizer. She paired the bodysuit with a matching leopard clutch, large rings and earrings, stiletto nails, and sky-high shoes to match.
Finally, she completed the look with bright pale makeup and ‘fro.
“I just wanted to feel like a little gangster,” she told Ego Nwodim and Teyana Taylor on Vogue‘s red caret livestream. “I just wanted to feel like the Madame.” She added that this collaboration was also heavily inspired by the ’80s and Marc Jacobs let slip that she sent him her new album for inspiration. So, if there are any leaks, we know who to go to first.
Back in 2023, Doja spoke to L’Official about fashion being a creative act for her, saying “Obviously I’m down to sacrifice my comfort; I’ll do anything for that fantasy that I have in my head. But yeah, I think in my personal life, I really enjoy finding the line between being comfortable but also doing something that’s exciting with whatever I’m wearing. And it’s been sort of like a game for me.”

She also spoke about her interest in design, saying “I would probably design clothes. I’m already 27. And I’m sure there are people who are late bloomers in fashion, but I have no history of making clothes, so I don’t know. But I do know that there are things I want to see in fashion. So maybe if I had a talented team that could help me materialize those thoughts, that would be something that I’m interested in. But it feels like such a laborious task. I paint, so that’s very easy, to stick a brush in some goo and slap it on a canvas.”
Would wear anything Doja sells me.
