The musician, 29, appeared at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, May 5 in a structured pinstripe bodysuit by Marc Jacobs, with sculptural elements enhancing her shoulders and hips, per Vogue. The look included an intarsia bodice, printed with the pattern of an ocelot — a big cat native to the Americas. “I really love big cat prints,” she told the outlet.
“There’s certain prints that I hold close and dear to me,” she told Vogue. “Personalizing your suit is a really big, key point to the theme and how that’s approached.”
The gala is a fundraiser for the Costume Institute and spotlights the museum’s spring 2025 exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” (also the theme of the night).
The rapper brought the look together with sheer black tights and custom ankle boots with rows of buckles and a tall platform. Doja Cat opted for more colorful glam, with a lilac eye look and a sharp red lip, and accessorized with an array of bold jewelry and long, gold stiletto nails.

In October 2024, Vogue shared details on the 2025 Met Gala, announcing that Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour would be co-chairs for the event, alongside LeBron James as honorary chair.
The Met Gala’s dress code for this year is “Tailored for You,” a nod to the exhibition’s focus on menswear and suiting.

Doja Cat’s latest Met moment marked her third consecutive, following previous appearances in both 2023 and 2024.
Back in 2023, while paying tribute to the late Karl Lagerfeld during her debut appearance at the Met Gala, the “Woman” musician showed up as her namesake, sort of. She opted to dress up as the designer’s beloved white Burmese cat, Choupette, with an Oscar de la Renta look complete with a backless hooded gown featuring some sparkly cat ears. The dress also featured a mermaid silhouette that flowed into a feathered train.
To coincide with the feline fashion statement, Doja also showed off prosthetics to make her face appear more cat-like.
“I’m very, very excited and I love it,” the rapper told Vogue of the look at the time.

A year later, Doja shied away from the cat approach and went for a radically different sheer white fabric look that appeared to be wet and was crafted by by Jenna Kuchera for Pat McGrath Labs.
For the Met Gala’s “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” theme in 2024, Doja departed the Mark Hotel wrapped in a white towel before showing off the wet look with some black mascara “tears” once she hit the museum.
“For Doja’s Met Gala look, we painted enchanted chrome tears of joy streaming down her cheeks,” McGrath shared in a press release at the time. “On her lids, we created the most beautiful gilded cat eyes using black pencil, black liquid liner, lots of mascara, and the warm scintillating shades in my Mothership V: Bronze Seduction palette. She looks absolutely major!”
Other recent looks for the “Need to Know” rapper include another cat-inspired look for the 2025 Oscars, when Doja stepped out in an animal-print Balmain gown — based on a ’50s design — that was covered in sparkles for the March event. And while performing Shirley Bassey’s “Diamonds Are Forever” during the James Bond tribute at the Academy Awards, Doja switched things up and rocked a nearly nude dress covered in crystals, designed by her creative director Brett Alan Nelson.
