Few stars have more subversive red carpet style than Doja Cat. Her Met Gala fashion moments are always thought-provoking whether she’s gracing the carpet in nothing but a wet-white t-shirt gown or cosplaying as the late Karl Lagerfeld’s beloved cat, Choupette.
This year, the Grammy winner rapper attended fashion’s biggest night with none other than Marc Jacobs and wore a custom ensemble that took delightful inspiration from the 80s. For the gala, Doja Cat wore a strong-shouldered, pinstripe bodysuit with dramatic shoulder pads and a cutout tiger print attached bustier. The rapper paired the look with transparent black tights, platform boots and a mini top-hat that nested inside of her teased up hair.
The Grammy winner’s Met Gala look seems to coincide with the release of her upcoming album—Vie—which she has been steadily teasing on social media. Just today, Doja Cat starred in a new Marc Jacobs campaign featuring a new song from her soon-to-be-released record, titled “Jealous Type”.

The singer previously decoded her ongoing style evolution to Harper’s Bazaar in 2023 which she shared often changes with her moods.
“I’m in this kind of chaotic place right now when it comes to fashion, where I’ve just been going into my closet and picking out the most random, weird, not-fitting thing to mix with another thing that does not really fit. It’s like mashed potatoes,” she shared. “But I’m embracing that. It’s a little punk. It’s experimental for sure. It’s very manic. But I am going in a darker direction when it comes to visuals and fashion. I have a lot of pent-up feelings and anger, and I want to express it with beauty.”
