It looks like we’re ending phase 5 with a brand new team, but there’s another question on everyone’s mind. Marvel movies and TV shows are well-known for having their own post-credit scenes, but as we’ve seen over the years, that doesn’t mean they will always have them. With Thunderbolts* being the final movie in the current phase, they definitely have something to tease when it comes to what happens next, right? Well, we’ve got all the answers for you right here!
Here’s everything you need to know about the end-credit scenes in Thunderbolts*.
Are there any end-credit scenes in Thunderbolts*? How many?
We already know what we can expect next, especially after the Doomsday announcement revealed which cast members were going to be back for the big ending in Phase 6. However, that doesn’t mean that Marvel didn’t have any surprises up their sleeve. In fact, Thunderbolts* featured not just one, but two post-credits scenes: one during the mid-credits and another all the way at the end.
Oops, I totally missed it. What happens in Thunderbolts* post-credit scene?
In the first scene that happens during the mid-credits, Red Guardian is seen shopping in a supermarket. He’s actually at the cereal aisle where there is none other than a Wheaties box with the Thunderbolts New Avengers on the front. He tells a woman who is trying to pick out a cereal that he should get Wheaties and points out that he’s on it. She takes it from him, but leaves it at the end of the aisle before turning the corner and walking away, leaving him awkwardly alone.
The second scene happens all the way after all the credits have rolled. We see the New Avengers in the Watchtower (or maybe it’s back to Avengers Tower again? We’ll see how that lawsuit goes), 14 months after the initial events on the film. Yelena tells Bucky that he should talk over the Avengers copyright with someone, but he notes that it went poorly and Sam Wilson has a copyright claim on the name. They propose different names including using New Avengerz (yeah, that Z will totally make a difference), as he sports a jersey with various sponsors on it.
Bob, who is sitting in a chair, still is part of the group but refuses to use his powers due to the possibility of the Void coming out again. They get an alert for an unidentified aircraft that is coming into Earth’s atmosphere. They pull up footage of the ship, where we see a giant 4 on the side of it (a nod to the next movie in the MCU, The Fantastic Four: First Steps). It fades to black until it finally says that “The New Avengers and Bob will return.”
