Doechii hit a bump in the road before her Met Gala debut.
Bystanders at The Mark Hotel witnessed the rapper cursing at her team because they failed to successfully conceal her outfit for her exit out of the lobby.
In a video captured by PEOPLE, the “Anxiety” artist can be seen trying to hide from the cameras as soon as the elevator doors open.
Multiple other people also attempt to cover her when a crew member provides a clothing rack for her to step behind while passing through.

Another clip shows Doechii hidden behind the covering but demanding umbrellas for extra coverage.
“I’m ready,” she says, before adding, “No, stop. Give me another umbrella now — and another. I need more f—— umbrellas.” She was also heard shouting profanities on her way out, telling her team to hold the umbrellas in place.

Doechii wore a Louis Vuitton suit by Pharrell Williams, the brand’s men’s creative director and one of the event’s co-chairs.
Her look paid homage to the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme and “Tailored for You” dress code. It featured a monogrammed blazer with a coattail and checkered trouser shorts. She wore her hair in an Afro and carried a mini Louis Vuitton Speedy bag and cigar as accessories.
Speaking with PEOPLE after her hotel conundrum, Doechii shared that to her, this year’s theme was about “blending the lines between what’s feminine and masculine” and “challenging norms in a stylish and gangster way.”

In the weekend leading up to the star-studded event, the Grammy winner honored the late André Leon Talley, who inspired this year’s exhibit, by recreating one of his tennis looks that translated his love for the sport and wearing luxury clothing while playing it.
A few other Met Gala attendees faced wardrobe blips too, with Kim Kardashian having an awkward interaction with a security guard who tripped over her skirt train as she was leaving The Mark and Sabrina Carpenter, who was spotted by PEOPLE reacting to her train being stepped on on the carpet.
