Dionne Warwick is remembering one of her fans’ favorite moments from her career.
The singer’s career, which began at just 15 years old, is full of unforgettable moments. One of them is a live performance of “Walk on By,” her single released in April 1964.
The performance took place in Belgium on New Year’s Eve 1964. The single, written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, helped propel the star to fame.
Retweeting a video of the performance on X, Warwick wrote, “How strange that this feels like it was just yesterday.”

When a fan asked about the performance and the dress she wore, particularly its color since the footage was in black and white, Warwick responded, “Hi, baby. It was filmed in Ostend, Belgium in the mid 60s. My dress was green, and it was a bunch of fun! 🥰🥰🥰.”
The singer is no stranger to sharing her memories or interacting with fans on the platform. “I have kind of changed the tone of this thing called Twitter,” Warwick told PEOPLE in 2021.
“I think people are enjoying my honesty,” she continued, adding, “I lay it right out for you. I don’t edit.”

Warwick’s life and rise to fame are the subject of an upcoming biopic, where the singer will be portrayed by Teyana Taylor.
Taylor first revealed in an early 2023 interview that she was, at that time, in the “building process” of a biopic based on the “Walk on By” vocalist’s life. Since then, Warwick has filled fans in on the project by explaining how Taylor — who she said was a “triple threat” in an October 2024 interview with the Associated Press — had been doing “all the research she can find on me” to prepare for the role.
“I want this to be perfect and I want to sell her story and I just want everything to be perfect,” Taylor told PEOPLE in Feb. 2025 of taking on the role. “But I’m in such a great space with it. We’re in a great space. We spend a lot of time together. So it’s just like, I’m super excited. It’s a big job. It’s a big job.”
