According to a synopsis, the new season follows the Intrepid Heroes (Emily Axford, Ally Beardsley, Brian Murphy, Zac Oyama, Siobhan Thompson and Lou Wilson) as they “venture off to a fantastical world of machine wonders and perils known as Gath, where they’ll join forces and take to the skies in search of the missing Professor Comfrey MacLeod.”
Beardsley will play Olethra MacLeod, a young woman who’s “extremely into the adventuring legacy of her family” and searching for her missing grandfather, Comfrey. Joining Olethra’s quest are Van Chapman (Thompson), a bruiser type with a mechanical arm who “comes from an old sailor family,” and the heavily-accented Marya Junkova (Axford), who is “gaunt with starvation, not of the body but of the soul.”
Rounding out their rowdy crew is Brian Murphy’s mysterious “Maxwell” and two currently unnamed characters: Zac Oyama as a gunslinging old man, and Lou Wilson as a burly adventurer. The “Cloudward, Ho!” trailer also features brief animated sequences (reminiscent of “Dimension 20: Mentopolois”) that offer glimpses at armor-clad dinosaurs, mechanical arms over boiling pits of lava and underwater ruins, teasing an “Indiana Jones”-style adventure for the new steampunk season.
“Cloudward, Ho!” is the first Intrepid Heroes season of “Dimension 20” to premiere since the sextet (and Mulligan) played a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden, revisiting the world of “Dimension 20: The Unsleeping City.”
“Dimension 20: Cloudward, Ho!” premieres June 4 exclusively on Dropout, with episodes releasing weekly.
