When Kate Middleton stepped out in Scotland this week, it was her first public appearance in more than a month. And it has not gone unnoticed that in that time she has changed her hair color for a new, lighter shade.
Kate wore her trademark long brunette locks down as she dressed causally for her two-day visit to the Isles of Mull and Iona in Scotland. However, when she first appeared Tuesday in bright sunshine at a Mull community hub, it was noted immediately that her hair looked lighter than it had done previously. Kate’s last public appearance was for St Patrick’s Day on March 17 when she wore a hat and her hair up. Before that, she appeared at the Wales vs England rugby match in Cardiff on March 15. Kate’s new style made the front page of one British newspaper today. Articles have labelled her new look as “bronde” and perfect for the summer.
This isn’t the first time that the Princess changing up her hair has sparked interest. She has sported different lengths and shades over the years as well as occasionally adding bangs. But she has never strayed too far from the long brunette style she had all those years ago when she first became famous as William’s girlfriend at St Andrews University.
The couple is marking 14 years of marriage with rare public appearances on their wedding anniversary over a two-day trip to the Scottish Isles of Mull and Iona. It is Kate’s biggest work trip since finishing chemotherapy last September for an undisclosed form of cancer. She has made it clear that her focus remains on her health and her family.
