Did Jay-Z Just Diss Kanye West? Fans Catch Lyric Change at Beyoncé Concert originally appeared on Parade.
Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour has delivered high notes, viral fits, and Blue Ivy proving she’s more than just a cameo, but Paris got something extra: Jay-Z, and what fans think was a lyrical shot at Kanye West.
On Sunday, June 22, Jay-Z (real name: Shawn Corey Carter) made a surprise appearance during the 43-year-old “Halo” singer’s show at Stade de France — the couple’s first time performing together in nearly seven years.

After delivering “Crazy in Love” and a mashup of “Drunk in Love” and “Partition,” the “99 Problems” rapper took center stage solo with “Ni**s in Paris,” a song originally recorded with West, 48, for their 2011 Watch the Throne album.
I LOVE how JAY-Z (@sc) changed the lyrics to “I just might let you meet B” while doing N**s in 🇫🇷 at the #CowboyCarterTourParis 😂@beyonce

But one line hit different.
Instead of rapping the original lyric, “Just might let you meet Ye,” Jay-Z swapped in: “Just might let you meet Bey.”
The crowd screamed. The internet clocked it immediately.
“Yup Kanye is deaded to him fr fr!” one fan posted on X (formerly Twitter).
“Don’t blame it. Talk about my damn kids you dead to me. Forever!” said another.

“Prediction: Ye is going to declare how hurt he is at being erased from the song (of course he’s already forgotten all the s–t he’s done to this family coz that’s how he do),” chimed in a third.
“After the way Kanye talked about his kids, Jay is done with Ye for good,” someone else added.

The lyric swap comes just months after West targeted Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s 8-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir, in a string of disturbing social media posts.
In March, West wrote: “WAIT HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN JAY Z AND BEYONCES YOUNGER KIDS THEYRE RETARDED NO LIKE LITERALLY.” He followed it up with: “HAVING RETARDED CHILDREN IS A CHOICE.”

The posts were deleted after a team member reportedly urged him to take them down, but West didn’t let up. In an interview with DJ Akademiks, the Yeezy founder called the tweets some of his “worst,” or maybe his “best or the strongest.”
A month later, he posted an apology… and then immediately undercut it with a vulgar question about Beyoncé’s sex life.

Neither Jay‑Z nor Beyoncé publicly responded, but the former Destiny’s Child star’s parents did.
“So I’m on the set of a photoshoot today for my book, and I wanted to tell you a corny joke,” Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, said in an Instagram video posted the day after West’s social media rant. “What happens when a snowman throws a tantrum? He has a meltdown. Y’all know that’s funny.”
Shortly after, Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles, told TMZ, “People pay a price for being stupid, especially in the music industry,” adding that he hoped West would seek help.
