Demi Lovato Poses for Backyard Pool Photos in Strapless Black Bikini and Sunglasses

Demi Lovato is doing her best to stay “Cool for the Summer.”

On Thursday, May 8, the former Disney Channel star took to Instagram to share her first set of bikini photos of the season with weeks to go before summer officially touches down.

In the carousel, Lovato shared a series of pictures of her in the clear blue waters of a pool that overlooked the ocean. The pop star wore a two-piece, high-waisted bikini in black that showed off her toned arms and torso. While in the pool, the “Confident” singer hit a series of poses with the clear blue sky and shining sun as her backdrop.

Lovato, 32, wore all black for the photos, even down to her accessories. She protected her eyes with black sunglasses and wore a black scrunchie on her right hand.

The only other accessory present in the singer’s bikini photos was a large pear-cut diamond ring worn on her ring finger — a bespoke solitaire engagement ring by N.Y.C. luxury jewelry boutique Material Good, given to her by fiancé Jordan “Jutes” Lutes in December 2023.

Black swimsuits have been a staple in Lovato’s wardrobe for years now. The singer wore a very similar two-piece in photos posted to her Instagram in June 2024. Much like the newer swimsuit, it contained a strapless tube top, but with a tie detail, and also featured a nearly identical high-waisted bikini bottom.

“Yes I’ve worn this bathing suit for years, yes I had it made and yes it’s the only one I need, okay?!!” she captioned the 2024 photos that saw her taking a mirror picture of herself wearing the swimsuit by the pool.

The singer was also spotted attending a pool party for the Grand Opening Weekend at The Tryst Puerto Vallarta on April 26 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

For that event, the “Heart Attack” singer opted out of wearing a bikini altogether — instead, she wore a black graphic T-shirt with bold white lettering and paired the top with a flowing aquamarine maxi skirt with side-tie details.

The musician completed the look with clear lucite heels and black wraparound sunglasses. She wore her jet black hair in loose waves that hung at her shoulders and added a nude pink lip for a pop of color.
