Demi Lovato is opening up about her picture perfect wedding to Jordan “Jutes” Lutes.
The “Fast” singer, 32, reflected on her May nuptials and shared how everything came together flawlessly — thanks, in part, to her early planning — during the Aug. 12 episode of the Chicks in the Office podcast.
“We got engaged in December, and I started planning in January. ‘Cause I was like, ‘I don’t want to be stressed. That’s the last thing I want.’ And so we started planning early, and we found a venue immediately,” Lovato recalled.
“We found all the other pieces of the puzzle pretty much immediately, and then of course it’s stressful leading up to the wedding because you want everything to go perfect,” she continued. “You don’t want anything to be messed up. And it’s like, ‘Is it gonna rain?’ All these things, all these variables, but when I say the day couldn’t have gone more perfect, like it was— everything went right.”

The Grammy winner added, “… It was such an amazing day. I was overjoyed and just like, it was the best day of my life.”

When it came to planning the guest list, Lovato noted that she had “wanted to keep it as small as possible,” but said that she found herself adding more people as wedding planning came along.
“I kept being like, ‘Oh, but I need to invite this person. Oh, but I need to invite [so and so].’ So the number kept growing,” she said. “It was really intimate. It was like 140-150, which I think was, like, the perfect size to be honest.”
When deciding on the guest list, the Camp Rock alum emphasized including those who held significance both in her life and in her relationship with Jutes.
“But who made the cut? It was just people that are really important to me, and that were a part of our story together, and everyone there plays a part in our relationship and that’s what we wanted to celebrate with them,” Lovato shared.
Lovato and Jutes went public with their romance in August 2022 and got engaged in December 2023. The couple then wed on May 25 in California, with the bride walking down the aisle in a Vivienne Westwood gown and cathedral-style veil, according to Vogue.

“You know, I’ve waited my whole life for him,” Lovato told PEOPLE in September 2024. “It’s very grounding to have a partner that is so supportive, so loving, so caring. It’s very easy to stay centered with him because I love him so much and he treats me so amazing.”
Lovato, who first met Jutes during a writing session for her album Holy Fvck, opened up about what makes their relationship work during an appearance on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show in September 2023.
“He has the best personality. We laugh nonstop,” she said. “There’s this partnership there that is just so magnetic, and the way that we laugh together — it’s just nonstop. So I think if you can find someone that makes you feel safe, that you’re so attracted to, that you laugh with constantly, that’s the formula of a really great relationship.”
