Days of Our Lives found its new Chad following Billy Flynn’s exit from the show. In a surprising turn of events, The Young and the Restless hunk Conner Floyd has been cast in the role.
Flynn left Days of Our Lives in March after accepting a job on The Young and the Restless. Now, Floyd’s leaving Y&R to play Flynn’s old character on the hit Peacock soap.

Deadline broke the news, revealing Floyd wrapped his run on The Young and the Restless as Chance, just as his Y&R co-star Melissa Ordway (Abby) promoted Abby and Chance joining the rest of the gang in France for the big Aristotle Dumas, aka Cane Ashby, reveal.
The turnaround is quick as Floyd begins filming for the hit Peacock soap today. The official Instagram account for Days of Our Lives teased a photo of him in front of his dressing room while revealing when fans will be able to see him on screen.
“Save the Date: April 2026 💙⏳#DOOL #days #daysofourlives #connerfloyd,” read the caption on the Instagram post.

The good news is that Chad won’t be off-screen the whole time. Due to the Peacock soaps’ advanced filming schedule, Flynn will still be on-screen playing Chad until January 2026. That means Chad will be MIA for a couple of months before Floyd begins in the role.
The Young and the Restless has yet to reveal Floyd’s last air date or whether the character will be recast. Considering Chance has been on the back burner for months, the character likely won’t be recast and will probably disappear into a soap opera abyss.
Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on Peacock, while The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
