Cynthia Erivo doesn’t do simple and quiet. The Tony-winner does loud and bold. She stayed true to that sartorial motto when she visited SiriusXM Studios yesterday.
For the day out, the actor wore a look that mixed so many seemingly opposing textures and styles. This included a white T-shirt in a graphic, washed-out black print, which Erivo tucked into wide-leg suede pants in a caramel brown.
Over her tee, she layered on a suede trench that matched her pants, although it was a shade lighter. If the shirt gave concert energy, and the coat and pants gave Western vibes, Erivo’s glossy white platform heels gave Hollywood.
The Wicked star added even more styles to the look with her jewelry. Her ears were studded with little gold hoop earrings all over, plus one pair of large gold hoops shaped like
anthropomorphized moons—with shiny diamonds as eyes. Then, around her neck, she wore a large brown-and-gold African necklace layered over an orange pendant necklace and a long gold beaded chain.
The actor also wore her signature silver hoop on her nose, as well as several large cocktail rings, and a bedazzled, orange, sharp-as-a-knife manicure.
For a final touch, Erivo took a style cue from Dua Lipa and added on a Western-inspired belt in an eye-catching leopard print, with a ribbed silver buckle.
She can sing, she can act… and she can pull off a look we never saw coming.
