In a now-viral video, a woman can be seen holding up a bright yellow sign that read, “My mom is 87 years old and this is her first country concert.” The heartfelt message caught Rhett’s attention, prompting him to climb over the barricade and walk straight toward the fan.
“I just want to hug you—can I hug you?” he asked as he approached. The woman happily agreed, and the two shared a warm embrace, which ended with a sweet kiss on Rhett’s cheek.
The concert goer who filmed the interaction shared the video online, writing, “Another reason why I love @ThomasRhett. It was an 87-year-old woman’s first country concert and he took a moment to give her a hug! Just look at the smile on her face—I can’t stop watching it.”
Rhett even chimed in on the viral clip, commenting, “My girl,” in response.
