Costco Fans Say These Pickles Are ‘Delicious’ — But There’s One Red Flag originally appeared on Parade.
Pickle lovers are delighted with a particular brand that Costco sells, but the packaging is killing their vibe.
A Costco member shared a photo via Reddit of their newly purchased tub of Grillo’s Pickles, which is arguably one of the top brands of the tasty snack. However, the experience of enjoying the treat comes with one red flag.
“These pickles are delicious. I get them every time I’m at Costco,” the person wrote in the Sunday, July 27, post. “However, the packaging is inferior. They leak when they’re unopened, and they leak when you open them. They leak just standing upright.”
Fellow Costco members shared their frustration over the wonky packaging, with some people admitting that the splash zone pickle juice turned them away from buying the product again.
“I quit buying these pickles because of all the plastic and mess,” one person shared. “These are my favorite pickles ever, and yet, I will only buy pickles in a glass jar now because of how much of a mess these pickles have made in my car and my house. Until they switch to glass, they’re dead to me.”
A former Grillo’s Pickles employee revealed that they also dislike the packaging, admitting, “I’ve been covered in pickle juice way too many times.”
Nonetheless, people in different areas of the country shared exciting news that their Grillo’s Pickles changed their packaging to a twist-off cap.
A separate person pointed out that Costco sells the 52oz container, rather than the 32oz package, which sucks the pickle juice from the air-sealed packaging, leading to spillage.
“The main issue with the Costco one is that it’s overfilled with juice with no air inside,” the customer wrote. “I always have to open it in the sink to prevent juicy gushage.”
Despite the debacle, the real pickle enthusiasts shared the perfect resolution to the juicy dilemma.
“Crack the lid and take a few big gulps of that pickle nectar,” someone joked.
