The Cannes Film Festival started on May 13 and goes through May 24, and some of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities have turned up to make red carpet appearances.
From Scarlett Johansson to Denzel Washington, to Nicole Kidman and Leonardo DiCaprio, some of the most notable names in the business have showed up.
One actor, however, turned heads left and right with his return to Cannes, leading some people to deem it a comeback. Deadline captured a video of Kevin Spacey, 65, who is at the festival to receive an award for Excellence in Film and Television.
If you recall, Spacey had multiple sexual misconduct allegations against him back in 2017, of which he was acquitted in the U.K. in 2023.
Many people who saw the Deadline clip are happy to see Spacey back doing what he loves. One person said, “The only canceled actor who was an incredible talent.”
Someone else added, “Glad he’s back 🥳,” while another said, “Glad he is coming back. Wrongfully accused.”
However, others weren’t too happy about his shocking return, with one person saying, “My grandfather told me never to trust a man in a bow tie.”

Of his return to Cannes, Spacey said, “I feel surrounded by so much affection and love. I’ve heard from so many of my friends and colleagues and co-stars in the last week since this award was announced… It’s very nice to be back.”
