Coi Leray is expecting her first child with fellow rapper Trippie Redd.

In April she revealed she was going to be a “girl mom.”

Her child’s name will be a blend of hers and the father’s.
Coi Leray has found a beautiful connection to her baby as she prepares to welcome her first child.
In a new interview with The Shade Room, the “Players” rapper, 27, opened up about finding the perfect name for her little one.
She first fell in love with “Miyoco” after hearing it as the name of her friend’s sister. Once she learned the meaning behind it, that was a bonus.
According to Ancestry DNA, Miyoko (sometimes spelled “Miyoco”) is of Japanese origin.
“In Japanese, ‘miyo’ translates to beautiful and ‘ko’ means child or generation. This combination creates a name that embodies the idea of a beautiful and generationally blessed child,” the genealogy company says.
For Leray, there was even more to love about the name.
“It also kind of has me and her father’s name kind of tied together,” she told the outlet.
Fellow rapper Trippie Redd is the father of the child. His real name is Michael Lamar White IV.
Incorporating “Mi” from “Michael” and “Co” from her first name was an added layer of why “Miyoco” was so meaningful.
As she prepares to welcome her little one, Leray says she can still remember the exact moment she found out she will be a mother.
“When I found out I was pregnant, I was feeling sick, and I missed my period, so I took a pregnancy test, and I was like, ‘Oh my God,’ ” she told the outlet, adding, “I was excited.”

The “TWINNEM” artist felt the time was right.
“I’m getting older now, and I think God’s time is always on time. The first person I told was the father of my child. It was a great moment we shared, and it was exciting,” she said.
Pregnancy has also allowed her to get more in tune with herself since cutting out things like weed and alcohol.
“My mind is so much more clear. I’ve learned to really dig inside of who I truly am as a person versus me, depending on the alcohol and the liquor to come up with [things],” she said.
Leray is happy she hasn’t had a hard time with things like morning sickness, but does admit she’s noticed “a lot of dry skin,” which she “never really experienced” before.

Exfoliating and oils have been her go-tos.
But there is one pregnancy plus that she’s been excited about: “I’m around my family, and they like, girl, did you get a little BBL, and I’m like, ‘Come on. How did I go and sneak and get a BBL while pregnant?’”
She added, “But I don’t really notice how big my butt really is. I think, because I look in the mirror every single day. I do see a change, like in my face and my hands, as far as just the weight gain, but I don’t see a big difference because I always thought I had a big butt.”

Before ending, Leray said becoming a mother has put a lot into perspective for her.
“I keep God first, always,” she said.
“I have so many things to be happy about,” she continued. “I’m about to be a new mom, about to have a little girl. So she gives me a whole different type of new motivation. I have to be strong, and I have to understand that there’s going to be a lot of things that happen in life, but at the end of the day, I have someone now that I have to raise that’s going to look up to me, and I want to be able to set an example.”
