Although they retired from touring last year after singer Steven Tyler suffered a debilitating vocal cord injury, Aerosmith is remembering one of its classic performances.

The band’s official Instagram account reminded fans that 31 years ago the group performed at a historic festival.

“During this week in 1994, Aerosmith made a stop on their Get a Grip Tour to take the stage at Woodstock ‘94. Aerosmith performed 24 songs, and this was the band’s first and only time performing at a Woodstock Festival,” reads the caption.

The accompanying video shows clips from the band’s set with Tyler performing the song “Eat the Rich” wearing a top hat and a kimono, followed by snippets of their performances of “Love in an Elevator,” “Draw the Line,” “Rag Doll,” “Dude Looks Like a Lady,” before moving onto the 1970s classics “Sweet Emotion,” “Walk This Way” and “Dream On.”

Fans had a mixed reaction to the post, with some expressing regret for missing the festival while others complimented the band’s performing prowess.

“Don’t mess with my gypsy heart like that, Woodstock, my dream was to have gone to that festival, it’s a shame that at that time there were people who could have tied me to a leash!!!!” wrote one fan.

“Aero’s best live performance ever!” another fan raved.

“I have such a clear memory of this performance as a little kid, and rage against the machine! I also remember everyone PELTING primus with mud,” another fan recalled.

“😍😍😍😍 I absolutely love their whole performance at Woodstock, it’s unforgettable ❤️‍🔥 But Draw The Line + F.I.N.E is undoubtedly my favorite piece of the show!!!” another fan raved.

While the future of Aerosmith remains uncertain, guitarist Joe Perry is currently on tour with the Joe Perry Project. The latest version of that band includes Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes on vocals, Perry’s Aerosmith bandmate Brad Whitford on guitar, and a rhythm section featuring Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz of Stone Temple Pilots.

The band just kicked off a tour Aug. 13 in Tampa with dates running through Aug. 23 in Port Chester, N.Y.

The Joe Perry Project is also set to open two shows on the Who’s farewell tour—Aug. 26 at Boston’s Fenway Park and Sept. 17 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
