Turning heads on the red carpet, Ciara bared her chest with a plunging black leather collared shirt from designer Cong Tri that was unbuttoned to her belly button. Keeping the sleeves rolled up to her elbows, the “Goodies” star styled the cropped design with a high-waisted black leather skirt, also from Cong Tri, that served up different details—and silhouettes—from every angle. In a nod to the recent fringe revival (no doubt influenced by the horse girl-coded style trend that’s been sweeping the fashion glitterati since last summer), Ciara’s black leather mini skirt featured a voluminous shape with layers of short black trim. Meanwhile, an asymmetrical black leather fringe train trailed out several feet on her right side, creating a high-low effect.

Ciara accessorized the leg-lengthening look with strappy black sandal heels that laced up her calves, as well as stacks of bedazzled bracelets and cocktail rings. A black baseball cap with a rhinestone-encrusted “A”—a shoutout to the Los Angeles Angels—covered her hair, further giving the look some street style cred.

In contrast to the long dark brown curly half-up style that Ciara wore for her twinning mother-daughter menswear moment at the Black Women in Music Dinner on June 3, the star went short and edgy for her latest red carpet appearance.
