Christy Carlson Romano Explains How She Ended Up In The HospitalRomano’s Husband SpeaksRELATED: Social Media Goes OFF After Video Resurfaces Of Raven-Symoné Being Brushed Away For Kendall Jenner Mid-Interview

Roommates, get into this freak accident! On Saturday (February 8),  Christy Carlson Romano opened up about someone shooting her “in the face” on her husband’s birthday. The actress shared the shocking incident on social media, including a close look at her healing injury.

For those who might not recognize her, Christy Carlson Romano was THAT GWORL on Disney Channel in the early 2000s. In fact, she’s right up there with Raven-Symoné, whom she remains friends with. Two of her most popular roles include big sister ‘Ren’ on ‘Even Stevens’ and voicing the character ‘Kim Possible.’

Christy Carlson Romano Explains How She Ended Up In The Hospital

Romano started her video by saying that it was NOT FUN to get shot in the eye. The clip shows multiple red blotches on her face, but most of the damage surrounds her right eye. There’s a small hole under it and multiple layers of red and purple bruising both under and on her actual eye. She confirmed that the hole was where a fragment of the bullet entered.

In her caption, she explained how the incident occurred on Friday (February 7). The 40-year-old had planned a lil’ outing for her husband, Brendan Rooney, which included clay pigeon shooting. There was another party with them. During the activity, the other party
“unsafely fired in the wrong direction” and struck Christy Carlson Romano. Her hubby quickly reacted by taking her to get medical attention.

“@thebrendanrooney immediately sprung into action, assessed me, and rushed me to the hospital. I was hit in 5 places, one was less than an inch from hitting me directly in my right eye,” she wrote in her caption.

Christy also showed where the bullet fragment is now lodged–towards the back of her eye. According to her caption, doctors have determined that removing the fragment is “too risky.”

Romano’s Husband Speaks

In Christy Carlson Romano’s comment section, Brendan spoke about his wife’s bravery throughout the whole ordeal. “You are the bravest, toughest, most stoic and bada*s woman I have ever met. I am so thankful you are alive. I am so thankful you are the mother to our children. I wouldn’t know what to do without you. I love you more than life itself,” he said. Additionally, on his page, he shared a photo of her at the hospital after the accident.

“My wife gets shot, I ask to take a picture for the record, she flips me the bird and smiles (she nearly lost her eye mind you). When they say there’s no such thing as, ‘The One’ they lie…I love you so much and I’m so grateful you’re safe and that you’re going to be okay. I will be by your side forever.”

Meanwhile, the former Disney superstar hasn’t revealed whether she plans to take legal action against the facilitator of the activity or the responsible party. In addition to making a lil’ jokey joke about living to tell the tale, she also showed gratitude for her safety.

“With everything that happened, all I can think about is how grateful I am to be alive. I love my daughters, husband, family, and friends so much. I saw my life flash before my eyes and I’m telling you, hug the people around you every chance you can. Life can change in an instant.”
