One of the original “American Psycho” cast members is looking to board the recently announced remake from Luca Guadagnino. Chloë Sevigny, who played Patrick Bateman’s (Christian Bale) secretary Jean in Mary Harron’s 2000 film, told IndieWire that she pitched Guadagnino about returning to the world of “American Psycho” in his new reimagining.
“When I heard that [Luca Guadagnino] was maybe doing it, I don’t know if he is for sure. I thought he was doing a World War II picture,” Sevigny said. “I pitched to him that I should play Jean again, and that they do that reverse aging on me. I thought that would be something that he would be into, conceptually having the same actress play the same part. But I don’t know. He said he was going to think of something else for me.”

Sevigny previously collaborated with Guadagnino on his upcoming thriller “After The Hunt” starring Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri, Andrew Garfield and Michael Stuhlbarg. According to a synopsis, the film follows “A college professor [who] finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star student levels an accusation against one of her colleagues, threatening to expose a dark secret from her own past.”
Principal photography on “After the Hunt” began in London in July of 2024 and wrapped in August, with the film set to open in a limited release in October. Guadagnino’s “American Psycho” remake has yet to begin filming, but Austin Butler has been cast as serial killer Patrick Bateman, and a script is “coming out very handsomely,” according to a recent update from Guadagnino at CinemaCon.
