‘Chicago Med’ Fans Express Shock After Season 10 Finale Cliffhanger

Chicago Medwrapped up its tenth season on Wednesday, May 21, seemingly revealing the identity of Hannah’s (Jessy Schram) baby daddy.

In the final few moments of Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 22 titled “Don’t You Cry,” Hannah, who found out she was pregnant in the penultimate episode that aired a week prior, knocked on the door what fans believed to be Mitch Ripley’s (Luke Mitchell) house.

But in a classic switch-up, when he opened the door, it was a former patient (and possible future love interest), Sadie (Holly Curran), whom he saved from the well earlier in the season, while Dean Archer (Steven Weber) actually opened the door for Hannah.

“We have to talk,” she stated, alluding to the fact that he may be the father.

Fans immediately took to social media to express a wide-range of emotions, including shock, excitement and, for some, disappointment.

Not everyone was convinced, however, as a “finale deleted scene” shared by Wolf Entertainment on X, showcasing a chat between Hannah and Caitlin Lennox (Sarah Ramos) during which the former said she didn’t tell Ripley yet because “it’s complicated.”

One fan suggested, “Based on this scene, I think it’s a WTD situation. Dean is a possibility, so Hannah told him. However, I think Ripley will turn out to be the real father in the end somehow, someway.”

Others noted, “Omg I can’t believe that Hannah baby is dean’s @jschramer I am in shock what a way to end the season finale of Chicagomed.”

Another seemed convinced that a previous scene in the finale episode, where Hannah asks Ripley about children, confirmed that he was the father.

“It’s so still Ripleys baby & she’s asking Dean for advice. There’s no other explanation for that earlier Rasher scene than its his baby absolutely no other explanation. I’m still so convinced it’s Ripley’s baby,” the fan wrote.

When asked showrunner Allen MacDonald, he remained tight-lipped about who the father is, telling Deadline, ““I’m going to let the episode speak for itself.”

So, it seems that it’s entirely possible that somewhere off-screen, Asher and Archer shared an intimate moment, but so did Asher and Ripley. We’ll have to wait until Chicago Med returns for Season 11 for official confirmation on who’s going to be welcoming a bundle of joy soon.

Elsewhere in the episode, Ms. Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) delivered a powerful performance while dealing with her PTSD, layoffs and choosing herself as she called things off with Dr. Dennis Washington (John EarlJelks), while Lennox received the test results, confirming her worst fears—she’s positive for an extremely rare prion disease, Gerstmann-Sträussler-Scheinker (GSS), that killed her mother.
