  • Chappell Roan transformed into a whimsical harlequin ballerina at the Sziget Festival on Tuesday, August 11.

  • “The Subway” singer had fans seeing quadruple, wearing her face on her ballet-inspired bodysuit, her harlequin clown hat, and a puppet-covered stick.

  • She later stripped down to a fringed bra sporting her eyes, as well as pair of blue velvet underwear.

Chappell Roan was hot to go as she joined fellow chart-toppers like Post Malone, Charli XCX, and Kid Kudi at the Sziget Festival. Headlining the Budapest, Hungary music festival on Tuesday, August 11, the Titian-haired “The Subway” singer complemented her signature porcelain doll makeup with a whimsical ballerina-inspired tutu and bodysuit with her face—bold glam and all—printed on it.

Roan’s extravagant costumery has become her calling card, whether she’s cosplaying a living Renaissance painting complete with chainmail armor or leaning into a theatrical Jazz Age-themed SNL moment topped off with a giant Napoleonic hat dripping in 1,000 crystals. And Tuesday night’s stage appearance was no exception, as she combined harlequin and ballet aesthetics into one over-the-top performance look. Wearing her auburn curls in voluminous ringlets, Roan stepped out in a pastel-printed bodysuit that was attached to a 3D ruffled skirt trimmed with teal thread, matching arms ruffles, and a giant ruffled collar around her neck in the same hue. The “Pink Pony Club” singer’s bodysuit—which mirrored her rainbow-hued eyeshadow and porcelain skin—had fans seeing double, along with an unusual hat and accessory.

In a play on her own accessories, which included a black bandit-inspired eye mask, Roan also wore a mini hat featuring a puppet also sporting an eye mask, a white harlequin-style hat, and his own auburn hair. As the singer addressed the crowd, she showed off a pointer stick that had another mini harlequin-style figure on top, complete with red ringlets. Roan accessorized her bold look with sheer black opera gloves, sheer black tights, green sashes that partially obscured the bodysuit’s cheeky cut, and knee-high lace-up black leather boots.

As the show went on, Roan removed parts of the outfit, including the hat, her bodysuit, tutu skirt, and her mask, leaving a black fringed bra printed with a design inspired by her eyes as well as blue velvet underwear.

It’s not the first time Roan has taken fashion inspiration from the dance community, as she previously stepped out at the 2025 Grammys in a bright canary yellow gown that featured iconic scenes depicted in Degas’s Yellow Dancers painting printed on its full tulle skirt.
