Chappell Roan never shies away from a little drama on the red carpet.
From gowns decorated with Degas paintings to wizard-style hats that fly off during acceptance speeches, the “Good Luck, Babe!” singer clearly went to the Lady Gaga school of having fun with your style. And for her most recent appearance, Roan wore a McQueen look that leaned into a bit of Harlequin dressing—and also completely covered half of her face.
On Thursday evening, the pop singer attended the 9th Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards hosted by The Daily Front Row. There, she served as a guest presenter, while also serving up plenty of glamour in a dramatic jacquard gown pulled straight from the McQueen Fall 2025 ready-to-wear collection.
Roan’s long-sleeve minidress was covered in a motif of metallic white flowers and black leaves that popped up all over the cream design. The dress featured a structured flare skirt and tight sleeves that billowed out along the cuffs, thanks to ruffles of matching material that added a lot of puffy volume. Meanwhile, the “Giver” crooner slipped into some white lace tights—which featured physical floral accoutrements that matched the rest of the design—and some inky patent leather heels to top it all off.
But the centerpiece of Roan’s look was the collar, which featured tight swirls of accordion pleats like a ruff. On the runway, this part served as a piece of high-neck drama, but Roan and her stylist, Genesis Webb (who went home with the Breakthrough Music Stylist of the Year award), decided to take it to the next level. Rather than tailor the silhouette for Roan’s height, the pair left the collar as it was, completely covering Roan’s mouth in the process. When you look this good, the dress does all the talking for you anyway.
