Is it just me, or is the Freakier Friday press tour making us collectively feel things we haven’t felt since we were teenagers? Like, suddenly I can’t stop obsessing over how great Lindsay Lohan looks and how much I want her red hair (I’ve always wanted it, mom); or how sweet her bond with on-screen mom Jamie Lee Curtis is; or how much I want Chad Michael Murray to take me to prom. (No matter that he’s married with kids and I graduated high school 14 years ago.)
That’s right, Chad Michael Murray—the dreamboat of the early aughts, the guy-next-door Prince Charming from every cult classic of our youth—is still my dream man. And can you blame me? Just yesterday, the actor joined his costars for a special screening of their much awaited Freaky Friday sequel in New York City, and he looked like a real-life Ken doll in a baggy, hot-pink denim suit. The workwear-inspired jacket had a pale blue collar, which was mirrored in the waistband of the wide, loose jeans. Murray wore the set over a casual black tank. So effortless, no nonchalant. Who’s hot? Me? Oh, I had no idea.
The Cinderella Story jock and Gilmore Girls trust fund hunk slipped into some black boots with metallic tips, and accessorized with some beaded black bracelets and a knotted silver bracelet, plus his beach-blonde hair and smoldering eyes. Murray’s scruff may be new, but this nostalgic crush feels just the same.
