It’s always a treat to see Catherine Zeta-Jones share thoughtful tributes to her family. Just a few weeks ago, she honored her mom, Patricia, for Mother’s Day in the U.K., then followed up with a second heartfelt post to mark her birthday. Nearly three weeks after shining the spotlight on Patricia, the Chicago star took to Instagram and celebrated her daughter, Carys, who turned 22.
Zeta-Jones shared a trio of gorgeous photos, including a stunning red carpet photo of Carys posing in a white see-through gown at the 76th Annual Cannes Film Festival. Zeta-Jones captioned the post, “Happy Birthday to my darling daughter Carys. 22 today!!! You are the joy of my life. I love you to Neptune and back. May this year bring you everything you dream of. Mama.”

The tribute also included a gorgeous black-and-white throwback of the Wednesday star cuddling a much younger Carys, and she also shared it to her IG Story, writing, “22 years ago my Easter Bunny arrived. Happy birthday Carys.”
Zeta-Jones shares Carys with her husband, Michael Douglas, who also posted a glowing portrait of the birthday girl on IG and said, “Happy Birthday my darling daughter Carys! Congratulations on graduation! I am proud of you @carys.douglas! [love] Dad.”

Zeta-Jones, who also shares her son Dylan with Douglas, has been vocal about her dynamic with both children. For example, in 2018, Zeta-Jones spoke to ETOnline about her tight-knit bond with her daughter, noting that her communication skills have played a big role.
She said, “My daughter and I have a really, really close relationship. I always say to her, ‘A problem shared is a problem halved.’ You just speak it out. I’m so blessed that I have that very liberal communication with her.”
The proud mom added, “She has a wonderful communication with myself and her father. It’s not just, ‘Oh I’ll speak to mum about that.’ I think that’s just Michael and I encouraging that at a very early age and then being around dinner tables where we talk very openly about everything and freely and all that stuff, so I’m very lucky.”
