Few do the Met Gala quite like Cardi B, who returned to the red carpet tonight in a green velvet suit and matching colored contacts. The Grammy-winning rapper and entrepreneur, known for delivering some of the event’s boldest looks, made her highly anticipated entrance tonight in Burberry, styled by Law Roach. She walked the carpet solo and alongside Halle Berry.
This year’s appearance marks Cardi’s sixth time attending the Met Gala since her 2018 debut, when she walked the carpet while pregnant in an opulent Moschino ensemble.
Over the years, she has cemented her place as a Met Gala mainstay, teaming up with designers like Thom Browne and Windowsen to deliver some of the event’s most talked-about red carpet moments. Last year, she wore a sweeping black tulle gown paired with an architectural headpiece—a moody, theatrical take on the “Garden of Time” dress code.
Beyond fashion, Cardi is currently balancing motherhood, business ventures, and a long-anticipated return to music. She’s currently preparing her sophomore album, the follow-up to her record-breaking 2018 debut Invasion of Privacy. At this year’s Revolve Festival during Coachella, she told ELLE, “Right now, I’m overwhelmed but focused…I’m prepping to drop my album, launch two businesses, and still be there for my kids. It’s a lot—but I’ve seen other women do it, and I know I can too.”
Outside of music, Cardi is also expanding her business empire. She’s launching a fashion and beauty brand in partnership with Revolve Group, following the success of her Whipshots line. “They know I don’t want anything cheap,” Cardi told ELLE. “I want everything to feel good, look good, and still be accessible.”
