‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Fan-Favorite Confirms If She Will Be in Reboot originally appeared on Parade.
As the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot pilot continues to develop, fans are eager for any news about the show and possible connections to the original series. While it’s confirmed that original show star Sarah Michelle Gellar is involved, many other members of the 1997 TV series’ main cast are getting questions from fans about whether or not they’re coming back.
Now, Charisma Carpenter, who played Cordelia Chase in the original series and the spinoff Angel, is officially confirming whether or not she’s involved with the reboot pilot, and unfortunately, the answer is, “No.”
Carpenter addressed fans in a new TikTok video on Aug. 16, beginning by saying, “Hey, I get asked this a lot: ‘Are you doing the reboot?’ And I thought I would address it.”

“I am not in the reboot. I am not in the pilot,” she went on. “I don’t even know if the show has been picked up to go to series. I assume it will be.” Carpenter then cleared up some confusion among fans who thought the title of her Buffy the Vampire Slayer rewatch podcast was an admission of her involvement, saying that it was not.
Carpenter finished the video with the straightforward statement: “I have not had a conversation with any of the powers that be to include Cordelia at this point.”
But Carpenter previously shared interest in participating in the new show if she were given the chance, with the actress saying in an interview, “I am so hopeful to be included, for Cordelia to be a part of this new iteration.”
Fans will simply have to wait and see if the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot pilot gets picked up for a full season, and if it does, which familiar faces might show up on screen again.
