OK, but what is a “Traegerator”?New grill will help tailgaters ‘grill like a pro,’ Bud Light says

What keeps beer cold, meats hot and music blasting? Apparently, a “Traegerator,” and Bud Light wants to give tailgaters a chance to win one.

Bud Light owner Anheuser-Busch shared news of the “Traegerator” in a news release on Tuesday, Aug. 26. The beer company worked with Utah-based grill manufacturer Traeger Grills to create the all-in-one keg, grill and speaker geared toward tailgaters.

Bud Light shared this week that it’s giving away a “Traegerator” to a lucky fan.

To win, tailgaters must visit www.budlight.com/traegerator, or comment #Traegerator and #Sweepstakes under Bud Light’s social media posts on:

USA TODAY has reached out to Bud Light to find out when the company will choose a winner for the “Traegerator” and whether the “Traegerator” will be sold online or in stores.

OK, but what is a “Traegerator”?

Designed to look like a classic blue Bud Light beer can, the “Traegerator” is a “first-of-its-kind creation,” Anheuser-Busch said in a 90s-style commercial the company shared on social media.

In true 90s fashion, Bud Light and Traeger Grills also came up with a jingle for their latest creation.

“Traegeratooooooor,” a man sings. “It’ll fill your cup and smoke your meat. All you’ve got to do is drink and eat … It’s got Bud Light in a kegerator. Tell all the other grills ‘See you later.’”

As the jingle plays, Bud Light partners dance and enjoy some freshly-grilled meats. The partners include Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield and tight end for the San Francisco 49ers, George Kittle.

“I love Bud Light and I love grilling, so it was great to collab with my friends at Bud Light and make the Traegerator as epic as possible,” said Kittle in the press release. “Baker and I had a blast singing and dancing on set and I haven’t been able to get the Traegerator song out of my head since!”

The company added that with Bud Light and Traeger Grills, tailgaters can “grill like a pro.”

Todd Allen, Senior Vice President of marketing for Bud Light at Anheuser-Busch, said in a press release that the company’s partnership with Traeger Grills was a given because the companies are both integral parts of the tailgating experience.

Allen added that the Traegerator “makes tailgating even easier for our fans to enjoy as part of our Grill Like A Pro campaign.”

Hjalmar Hedman, Vice President of branding for Traeger Grills, said in the press release that the company is all about bringing people together.

“The Traegerator takes that to the next level,” Hedman said. “We all know that BBQ and beer go hand in hand, and we couldn’t be prouder to partner with Bud Light in bringing this project to life.”

Bud Light also shared news of the grill on Facebook, adding that it’s perfect for weddings.

“Travis and Taylor’s wedding,” wrote one Facebook user, alluding to Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce’s recent engagement to songstress Taylor Swift.

“You said it, not us,” Bud Light replied.
