Legendary Broadway beauty Kristin Chenoweth took her singing skills to the NBA finals. The talented actress was tasked with singing the national anthem for basketball fans to kick off Game 7 between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers.
Chenoweth did her thing, giving fans a soprano-style version of the national anthem. It should surprise no one that she killed it. However, there were two moments that had the crowd loudly cheering her on.

The singer held the nearly impossible high notes of “free” and “brave,” earning her wild applause from the crowd. Chenoweth’s version of the national anthem was a bit different from what some expected, but those two moments have fans singing her praises.
Following her performance, Chenoweth shared it to social media, as did the official Instagram accounts for the Thunder and the Pacers. The comments section was flooded with thoughts on her performance.
“Damn girl I got chillllzzzzz on that high note!!!🎵 🙌🏽👏🏽,” wrote a fan. One fan stated, “ICON FOR AN ICONIC MOMENT! 🏀⚡️🫶🏻.”

A different fan shared, “Boy, the fans got a treat tonight! They got to hear one of America’s great sopranos sing the national anthem, and they got to see the home team win! 😍.” Another fan simply stated, “MVP @kchenoweth !!! ❤️❤️, while one declared her an “icon. legend. Amazing.”
Other fan comments included, “LOOK ITS GLINDA,” “What a dreamboat – perfection,” and “Glinda is an OKC fan.” The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards, and Lindsay Lohan also praised Chenoweth’s performance.
