Brittany Cartwright Says She’ll ‘Never Forgive’ Jax Taylor For This One Thing

In a new interview, the reality star, who married Taylor on “Vanderpump Rules,” revealed that after she announced her split from her soon-to-be ex-husband, Taylor put her and Cruz through unnecessary stress.

According to Brittany Cartwright, Taylor’s actions have forever stained the way she views the 45-year-old.

While speaking with PEOPLE ahead of season 2 of “The Valley,” Cartwright reflected on what she went through to live in her house in the San Fernando Valley after her split from Taylor.

According to her, the “House of Villains” star, who’s known for stirring up trouble on reality TV, wouldn’t leave their home, which made it difficult for Cartwright and her 3-year-old son.

“Jax would not leave for seven months, while I had to move to different rental houses,” Cartwright said. “I even said that he could move into the rental houses that I paid for. He still wouldn’t do it. No matter what.”

Today, Cartwright is back in her home with Cruz, and she has a mat outside her door that reads, “The Cartwrights.”

“I didn’t know if I was going to get a chance to come back here,” she said. “I went looking for houses, and I did all these different things. But I wanted to be here. I feel like I made this house a home. Cruz was born here. This is his house. He’s got his pool outside; he’s got his swing set. He’s got his playroom. He’s got everything here.”

Later, Cartwright, who recently revealed her son was diagnosed with autism in the fall, said her home is Cruz’s “safe space.”

Consequently, she wasn’t fond of Taylor making them bounce from house to house.

“I’ll never forgive him for doing that to us,” she said. “When you’re dealing with a child with autism, we shouldn’t be the ones moving around. That should have never happened. But that’s just how Jax is.”

Eventually, Taylor did move out of their once-shared home and into a condo of his own. However, Cartwright doesn’t believe it was for the right reasons.

“I think, eventually, when the cameras got turned on [for “The Valley” season 2], he realized, ‘Oh God, everybody’s going to see that I made her move out of the house,’” Cartwright explained. “That’s probably the only reason he finally moved out, I’m not even going to lie.”

Now that she’s back home, Cartwright said she and Cruz are there to stay. She also opened up about how “proud” she is that she’s been able to handle things on her own.

“I’m a girl from Kentucky, and I never even thought I would have a house like this. He don’t [sic] help me, at all. Let me make that clear. He does not help me at all, with any of my bills. So I’m just proud of myself that I’m able to do it,” she said.

In a previous interview, Cartwright revealed there were times Taylor displayed “aggressive” behavior toward her in front of their son.

“It got so bad, and he was just so aggressive and horrible to me, yelling at me in front of our son [Cruz],” she said. “I had to take Cruz out of the house.”

She eventually said Taylor’s behavior “spiraled out of control,” and she knew there was no going back. “There was no possible way that we were going to meet back in the middle again,” she said.

Later, he admitted that the drug use stemmed from the problems he faced with his mental health more than anything else.

“I will say drugs and alcohol are not the problem,” he said. “The problem was I just didn’t address my mental health at all and used drugs and alcohol [to] mask it.”

Taylor, who’s been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, went on to say his real-world problems were so “overwhelming” that illicit substances “just helped.”

Today, however, Jax is over 130 days sober, and he’s continuing the fight for his son.

“I want my son one day to be like, ‘My dad….there was something wrong with him, and he fixed himself; this is why he’s here today,” he said.
