British Rocker Pays Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne After Funeral: ‘Your Light Will Forever Shine’ originally appeared on Parade.
Gone but not forgotten.
Yungblud is holding onto his memories of Ozzy Osbourne. On July 31, just one day after the Black Sabbath frontman was laid to rest, the 27-year-old rocker (real name Dominic Harrison) posted a black-and-white Instagram photo of the cross gifted to him by the late metal legend, 76.
“Goodnight Oz,” he wrote. “Your light will forever shine. I love you.”

Like millions of Black Sabbath fans, Osbourne’s death on July 22 came as a shock to Yungblud.
“I didn’t think you would leave us so soon the last time we met you were so full of life and your laugh filled up the room,” he captioned a July 22 Instagram post featuring photos from their final encounter. “But as it is written with legends, they seem to know things that we don’t. I will never forget you – you will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage.”

“Your cross around my neck is the most precious thing I own,” he continued. “You asked me once if there was anything you could do for me and as I said then and as I will say now for all of us the music was enough.”
Yungblud was one of many artists who performed at Black Sabbath’s final show in Birmingham on July 5 – and he’s promised to keep playing their 1972 hit “Changes” long after Ozzy’s gone.
“To sing this song for you at an event surrounded by legends inspired by you to a crowd that loved you was truly my life’s greatest honour and I vow to play this song every night for the rest of my life,” he wrote alongside a Instagram video of the performance. “You’re my hero in every regard.”
