  • A bride detailed her “petty revenge” plan for her sister-in-law in a Reddit post

  • Because the Redditor’s sister-in-law excluded her side of the family from her wedding photos and videos, she thinks it’s “exactly fair” for her to do the same thing to her now that it’s her turn to get married

  • “She won’t appear for even one second. Just like she made sure we didn’t,” the bride wrote

A bride has a plan to embarrass her sister-in-law at her wedding.

In a post recently shared to Reddit’s “Petty Revenge” forum, the bride admitted that she wasn’t “asking for advice” nor did she care if other users on the platform thought her revenge plan was “too mean.” She simply wanted to divulge her plan online “freely.”

The bride’s disdain for her brother’s wife began long before her own nuptials. Issues actually started at her sister-in-law’s wedding. The woman had “very specific expectations,” including that family members wear certain wedding colors.

The day before the wedding, the poster’s sister-in-law made some “offhanded (but clearly pointed) remarks” about how the groom’s side of the family “never takes anything seriously,” which “hurt” many family members’ feelings. Despite this, “everyone made an effort to make her feel celebrated.”

“Fast forward to getting the wedding photos and video: not a single photo of our side of the family was posted. Not one,” the Redditor wrote. “In the entire 3-minute highlight reel? No faces from our family, except a 3-second clip of my parents with the bride and groom. The rest of us? It’s like we never existed.”

The woman asked her new sister-in-law for any pictures of her family that she had. Even though they weren’t posted on social media, she definitely remembered taking some.

“She responded that we never took those pictures,” she said. “That’s wild because I remember helping people adjust corsages for them. She doubled down on the gaslighting. I gave it six months and asked again — she suddenly had no idea what I was talking about.”

Now it’s the Redditor’s turn to get married. She thinks it’s “exactly fair” for her to pull some “petty revenge.”

The bride explained that she’s been planning her payback since the moment “she tried to erase us.” First, she misspelled her sister-in-law’s name on her wedding invitation “on purpose.” Now, much like how her sister-in-law treated her, the bride plans on “erasing” her from her wedding photos and videos.

“I hired a great photographer and videographer. What she doesn’t know is that the videographer has a secret mission: make it look like she’s getting all the attention,” the bride shared. “Track her. Hover near her like she’s the star of the show. She will feel so seen.”

She continued: “And then… the final cut? She won’t appear for even one second. Just like she made sure we didn’t.”

In the comments section, most Reddit users were more concerned about getting a timely update on the situation rather than the ethics behind the revenge.

A few individuals even suggested that the bride should tell her wedding photographer and videographer to take “unglamorous” and “unflattering” photos and videos of her sister-in-law at “awkward angles” to then be posted on social media.

“And if possible, tag her in all of them,” one person added.
