Nothing says ‘I dough‘ like an 8-foot pizza.
As “huge pizza lovers,” Beth and Brandon Duhon naturally served pizza at their outdoor wedding reception on May 3 at Rio Bella Resort in Rio Frio, Texas. And because everything is bigger in Texas, they didn’t order just any grab-and-go pizza that could fit inside a cardboard box — they topped all expectations by hiring Dirt Road Cookers to make a massive pizza onsite.
“One of the coolest moments? The groom enlisted his groomsmen to help with the whole process,” the couple’s wedding photographer, Trinity Sorrells, tells PEOPLE. “It took six guys to lift the giant pizza into and out of the cooker — it was a total event in itself!”

Beth, Brandon and their 160 wedding guests watched in awe as the pizza rose to life.
“Everyone was fascinated — there was so much excitement watching the process,” Sorrells says. “It even became a group effort!”
The groom also made a second large pizza in the shape of a heart, which he topped with his and his bride’s initials in pepperoni.
“They wanted something fun, unexpected and personal,” Sorrells explains. “It was such a playful way to reflect their personalities.”
After the 8-foot pizza came out of the mobile wood-fired pizza oven, it was served immediately so that “it stayed perfectly hot and fresh.” The crowd lined up buffet-style to grab their crispy and cheesy slices, along with salad and drinks.

Giant pizza being sliced at wedding
There were a variety of flavors on the humongous pie, including cheese, pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onions and a special sauce.
Thanks to a supersized pizza wheel, the whole pizza only took “about five minutes” to cut up. “Super efficient!” Sorrells says.
Sorrells snagged a slice for herself, describing it as “so good.”
“Hot, cheesy and flavorful with a crisp crust and generous toppings,” she remembers.
Sorrells recently shared clips of the wedding pizza being prepared and served on TikTok, and in less than a week her post has amassed nearly 1 million views and 35,000 likes.
“New wedding idea 📣📣 GIANT PIZZA,” Sorrells wrote in an on-screen text overlay, adding in the caption, ” ‘Oh we’re just having pizza at our wedding’ are you kidding me??! Have you ever seen something this COOL?! Giant pizza!”

A few commenters were worried about bugs or the pizza getting cold, but most TikTok users loved the idea.
