Start your engines: F1 is about to rev up the summer box office.
Brad Pitt stars in a newly released full trailer for his upcoming sports action drama, which sees him as a former driver “who returns to Formula 1 at APXGP, a fictional team on the grid,” per a synopsis.”
Along with Pitt, 61, the cast also includes Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Simone Ashley, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo.
Pitt’s character, Sonny Hayes, is shown in the trailer making his comeback after being away from the circuit. He’s given a talking-to by Condon’s character Kate, who tells him, “Let’s get this straight: We all lose our jobs if you can’t pull off a miracle.”
“No pressure,” says Sonny, to which his longtime friend Ruben (Bardem, 56) responds, “None.”

As the two are shown learning to slowly trust one another, Sonny tells Joshua, “Three laps. Three laps is a lifetime.”

Brad Pitt in F1 (2025)
Director Joe Kosinski, who also helmed 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick, previously described F1 as an epic racing film with “real heart,” especially with Pitt’s character and his “redemption story.”
Kosinski, 51, also confirmed that both Pitt and Idris drove on an actual F1 track while filming, which happened after “months of training” with the help of seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton, who produced the movie.
Pitt himself expressed his enthusiasm for the project to Sky Sports F1 in July 2023, noting the joy F1 has brought him.
“I’m a little giddy right now, I’ve got to say,” the Oscar winner said. “It’s the best time of my life. … The vibe is amazing, but just to get to be a part of it in this way, and get to tell our story.”
F1 is in theaters and IMAX June 27.
