She’s baaaack. Blake Lively made her return to late night on Thursday, May 1, with an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. This marked her first television appearance since the drama-filled press tour for It Ends With Us, and while she declined to go into specifics, Blake did allude to her Justin Baldoni legal drama in the interview, calling her year “full of the highest highs and the lowest lows of my life.”
Blake is currently promoting her new film Another Simple Favor, but up until last night, her press duties consisted of pre-taped PR interviews and red carpet appearances—places where she could avoid questions about herlawsuit against the It Ends With Us director. Blake has filed multiple complaints citing alleged inappropriate on-set behavior, including allegations of sexual harassment. Now, she’s speaking out. Sort of.
“Honestly, it’s no surprise, I’ve had a pretty intense year,” she told Late Night host Seth Meyers, alluding to the lawsuit. While both she and the host acknowledged that she couldn’t say much, Blake did reveal a little bit about how the lawsuit has affected her personally. “What I can say is that without going too into it is that this year has been full of the highest highs and the lowest lows of my life,” she said.
Blake continued, “I see so many women around, afraid to speak—especially right now—afraid to share their experiences. And fear is by design. It’s what keeps us silent. But I also acknowledge that many people don’t have the opportunity to speak. So I feel fortunate that I’ve been able to.”
The actor added that she’s found strength in “the women who have had the ability to use their voice,” saying she’s been inspired to “fight for the world to be safer for women and girls.”
Her comments on Late Night echo her speech from the Time100 Gala just last month, where she was honored as one of Time‘s Most Influential People of 2025. “I have so much to ay about the last two years of my life, but tonight is not the forum,” she said at the event. “What I will speak to, separately, is the feeling of being a woman who has a voice today.”
