Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley’s romance is blooming.

The couple debuted their relationship on Instagram earlier this month, and while the Austin Powers actress left Tennessee for the U.K. on April 28, with the country star dropping her off at the airport, a source tells PEOPLE they’ll see each other again soon.

“Liz spent a beautiful couple of weeks in Tennessee with Billy Ray,” says the source. “She loved being surrounded by nature in a more laid back environment. She had a great time with Billy Ray.”

Hurley and Cyrus initially met while filming 2022 holiday movie Christmas in Paradise in Nevis. “They are keeping in touch now and plan on seeing each other soon again,” adds the source. “They both believe they were meant to connect again.”

The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer and Hurley “appreciate each others’ love and friendship,” continues the source. “They have a very special connection.”

On the horizon is Hurley’s 60th birthday on June 10, and the source says she plans to have an intimate celebration with family for the occasion.

Reps for Hurley and Cyrus had no comment when reached by PEOPLE.

Over the weekend, Hurley shared photos of herself and Cyrus enjoying some time together as they hung out on a ranch and drove around on an ATV. “Tennessee weekend ❤️,” she captioned the photos.

The pair debuted their romance on Instagram on Easter Sunday, April 20, with a joint post featuring a photo of Cyrus wearing bunny ears as he kissed Hurley on the cheek.

Later that week, Hurley posted a video of the pair driving into the sunset in an open-window vehicle.

In a recent interview on Apple Music Country’s The Ty Bentli Show, the Grammy winner revealed he and Hurley reconnected as he entered a difficult period of life.

“I felt like, ‘Wow, can life get any harder? Can it get any tougher?’ For me, at a certain point it was like, you can’t get knocked down any flatter than laying on your back when life is kicking you,” he explained. “And in this moment… a friend reached out.”

He described Hurley as “a great human being” while going in depth on their bond. “If all we ever were [is] the friends that we are, I would take that. She’s so impressively brilliant. She reminds me a lot of Dolly Parton. She’s a very smart businesswoman,” he said, adding: “If you can laugh together, you can make it through everything.”

Cyrus was previously married to Australian singer Firerose from October 2023 to August 2024. Before that, he and ex Tish Cyrus — with whom he shares five children — were married for 28 years. The country music star also shares son Christopher Cody Cyrus with ex-girlfriend Kristin Luckey.

Hurley, meanwhile, was married to businessman Arun Nayar from 2007 to 2011. Prior to marrying Nayar, she was in a relationship with Hugh Grant for 13 years. The pair split in 2000, but Grant remained in her life as a godfather to Hurley’s son Damian, whose father is late businessman Steve Bing.
