Billy Joel has officially joined the ranks of The Summer I Turned Pretty fans, and he’s not shy about picking sides.
The five-time Grammy winner, 76, popped up in the conversation around the hit Prime Video series after getting an unexpected shout-out in season 3.
In episode 5, the character Belly Conklin (Lola Tung) visits an upscale bakery for a wedding cake, only to have the shop owner tell her: “Billy Joel picked that cake for his 70th. We have a really exclusive client base.”
Joel clearly took the nod in stride. On Friday, he reposted the clip in a now-deleted Instagram post with the playful caption: “Are you Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah?”
Naturally, the question sent the comments section into overdrive, with fans debating which fictional Fisher brother the “Piano Man” himself might root for.
“Team Conrad because you know he listens to Billy Joel :))),” one fan insisted.
Joel’s eldest daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, even joined the conversation, writing, “Team Conrad always! Cuz loving him was red…” in reference to the Taylor Swift track “Red,” which scored Conrad Fisher’s (Chris Briney) entrance earlier this season.
While several users chimed in with comments like “Jeremiah all the way!”, various reports suggest that Conrad may have been the ultimate winner this time around.
