Former Attorney General William “Bill” Barr said he never saw any evidence that President Donald Trump intervened or committed a crime relating to Jeffrey Epstein’s case, a source familiar told the Daily Caller.

During Monday’s closed-door deposition before the House Oversight Committee, Barr testified Trump never offered any input or direction regarding Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal case or his death. (RELATED: Alex Acosta’s Name Is Missing From Epstein Testimony List)

Barr cooperated fully in the deposition, responding to questions from both Republican and Democratic members and their staff, the source told the Caller.

Barr added that if any incriminating evidence against Trump existed, the Biden Department of Justice (DOJ) would have already released it, the source stated. Barr also reiterated that he still believes Epstein died by suicide, according to the source.

Barr is the first of six former attorney generals — and the first of 10 individuals total — subpoenaed by House Oversight Chair James Comer.

Former Attorneys General Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, Merrick Garland, Jeff Sessions and Alberto Gonzales each received letters outlining the focus of the investigation and explaining how their roles might relate to what they knew about the Epstein case.

The subpoenas also include former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) directors James Comey and Robert S. Mueller III. Hillary and former President Bill Clinton were also subpoenaed by Comer.

The committee spokesperson told the Caller Monday that it plans to withdraw its subpoena for Mueller, citing health issues that “preclude him from being able to testify.” (RELATED: REPORT: Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller Allegedly Living In Memory Care Facility)

Comer told reporters Monday, ahead of Barr’s deposition, that the Justice Department is cooperating with the committee’s subpoena for Epstein-related files and expects to receive the records soon.
