‘Beyond the Gates’ Star Karla Mosley Reveals Who She Thinks Dani Should End Up With originally appeared on Parade.
Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) kicked off Beyond the Gates by taking on her ex-husband Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) and his child bride, and family friend, Haley (Marquita Goings), head-on and with a bang. But as the series has progressed, Dani has found love in the arms of a younger man herself. Now, her portrayer, Mosley, is revealing who she feels is the better romantic match for Dani.
Mosley was recently interviewed on the Loungin With Tony podcast hosted by Tony Moore. While there she was asked who she thinks is a better match for Dani, Andre (Sean Freeman) or Bill.

The actress began by reflecting on the scenes where Bill was in the hospital after his stroke, with his wife Hailey by his side, Dani entered the room and took control of the situation. “I have seen it [similar situations] in my own life. Because if you have history like that with people, at the end of the day, it’s like I was there 20 years ago when he had pancreatitis. So,I know about that thing that happened. Like, this is medical. This is real. I have the info and there’s nothing you can do but step aside and let the person who knows do what they do.”
Addressing the question at hand, Mosley began “Oh my gosh. I think in the beginning I would have said Bill.” She continued, “Because it felt like Andre was younger and didn’t really understand.”
However, that doesn’t mean that’s her current feelings, the actress explained, “But there is this new Dani blossoming.” She said with a grin. “So, Andre actually might understand the new Dani better than Bill does.”
Mosley explained how Bill would have to evolve and change if Dani was to give him a second chance. “[Bill] would expect her to go back to those same old roles and that’s not who she is anymore. Bill would have to be willing to change and that’s a tall order for a stubborn man like that. Especially like Bill Hamilton honey because he ain’t gonna change for nobody.”
Reflecting on her characters current perspective, Mosley added, “I think that’s the thing. It’s like, who is this Bill that Dani loves? Who is the Bill that she’s pedestalizing? Did he ever exist? Cuz is it the man that he is now? Cuz he’s kind of been like that. But we all have our rose-colored glasses, and they have a lot of history. So, on some level, she does understand. It’s like, you know, it’s the crazy she knows and it’s easier but is it actually easier?”
