There has been no shortage of fabulous western looks in Beyoncé’s arsenal. Ever since she dropped Cowboy Carter—her (mind you, Album of the Year-winning) eighth studio album—fans have gotten used to seeing the singer pay homage to her Texas roots through sartorial cowboy motifs. From accessories like bolo ties to textiles like denim and leather, Beyoncé’s style over the past year has singlehandedly brought a rodeo renaissance to the forefront of fashion. But, that doesn’t mean she’s above hanging up her cowboy hat for something that’s a bit more low-key, too.
Before she kicks off her upcoming Cowboy Carter Tour, the superstar momentarily traded in her signature western wardrobe for an easygoing high-low look. She stepped out for a rare date night with Jay-Z in Los Angeles this past weekend, opting for easy separates and unexpectedly cool accessories. For the base of her monochromatic outfit, Beyoncé wore an oversize black blazer layered atop a pair of black tights. Rather than pair the look with a cowboy hat and boots, the singer opted for a slick black baseball cap and some pointed-toe leather pumps. She completed the look with a few more accessories, including large gold hoop earrings, a tan woven leather handbag, and a set of square black-framed eyeglasses.
While Beyoncé continues to incorporate western elements into her wardrobe (like the paisley bandana Schiaparelli gown she wore during the 2025 Grammys), she has also taken up other codes of dressing lately. For instance, she recently went the vintage route with a black Patrick Kelly minidress, which she wore to Kelly Rowland’s birthday party. And during a campaign rally for Kamala Harris last fall, Beyoncé appeared onstage in an hourglass blazer dress.
